![]() I was going through a break-up at the time of this release and it was especially poignant. Most songs either take the stance of 'fuck my ex' or 'I really want her back' but I felt this song realistically portrayed a more amicable break-up and the confusing feelings that come along with it. It touches on a pretty niche topic in relations to break-ups. I still prefer listening to Flower Boy, and not all the songs on Igor have much replay value for me personally, although Earfquake and A Boy is a Gun* are such ear-worms and have been stuck in my head since the day it released.Īlso I'll say Are We Still Friends has become one of my favorite songs of last year. ![]() ![]() Pretty refreshing to see an album within hip-hop that embraces a really emotionally vulnerable point of view, and I love the contrast between the very abrasive sounds that remind me of Cherry Bomb but also the neo-soul and 'loveliness' of Flower Boy all in one bundle.
